This year, for the first time, UNESCO-IHE participates in the yearly day of the dialogue which is organized in over 100 Dutch municipalities. The goal of this national dialogue initiative is to unite citizens, who, otherwise may not easily meet and through this meeting create new connections and ideas.
Feeling at home
This year’s theme of Delft in Dialogue is “Feeling at home.” What makes us feel at home?" What is feeling at home?" and more questions will be discussed.
A dialogue table is a lot of fun and can create new friendships. 6 – 8 people join at one table. The 4 dialogue tables at UNESCO-IHE will be mixed with international UNESCO-IHE participants and Dutch citizens. Of course the dialogues will take place in English.
A dialogue is not a debate. It is not about convincing others of my opinion or having the better arguments. A dialogue is an open minded encounter of people of different background. A special dialogue method and trained dialogue moderators help to stimulate this process. It is essential to properly listen to one another and emphatically understand the other. We will exchange our experiences, ideas and dreams about the theme. In this way we can get new insights and formulate personal steps for action.
Participation is free and upon arrival at UNESCO-IHE you will be welcomed with some international snacks and a drink. To register and participate, simply sent an email with your name, email address and telephone number to .
The organization of the event is a cooperation between the UNESCO-IHE social cultural office, the international Student Chaplaincy and ‘Delft in Dialoog’. For more information you can consult their website.
