So far what have been the highlights of your study?
I took Environmental Engineering for my bachelor's degree and decided to continue my education by studying Sanitary Engineering, which is a specialization under the Urban Water and Sanitation program at IHE Delft. In this area of study, I wish to sharpen my knowledge about sanitation. I am not only learning about how to treat waste water effectively, but also about managerial aspects of sanitation.

Why did you pick IHE Delft for your studies?
I believe that the Netherlands is the best place to study water related subjects and there are not many institutes/universities that focus only on water education. IHE Delft as an institute for water education, offers all its programmes in English. Also, with the name of UNESCO, I was sure that this could be beneficial to sharing new experiences from around the world and creating new connections with important and influential decision makers from governments and international organisations.

Do you know what you will be doing afterwards?
After finishing my studies, I will be going back to my beloved country and I will dedicate my knowledge to the country, by continuing my work as a government officer. My work gives me many opportunities to meet with people from different areas of interest and levels of work, not only people from the government, but also foreigners and local people. By meeting these various type of people, I have the chance to broaden my perspectives, link, and share knowledge with them. I would like to share any information that I gained during my course, not only about water and sanitation, but also about global life and how to live in the Netherlands in general.

What is it like to live in Delft? Do you like the atmosphere?
Delft is a lovely city. Even though it is a small city, this city has everything to support our life as a student. I prefer to live in small city with beautiful scenery, just like Delft. It is not as crowded as The Hague, but there are still plenty of activities in the centre of town. The atmosphere is really conducive for studying and you can also learn some things about Holland and the famous Royal Blue Delft. The Hague and Rotterdam, the nearest big cities to Delft, can be reached by using public transport and both are within 15 minutes.

Would you recommend IHE Delft to prospective students?
Absolutely. Become part of us, the IHE Delft family, where you can learn everything about water and create better conditions for our shared water resources and pass it on to other generations.
