On 23 June from 11.00 – 15.00 hrs, IHE Delft Institute for Water Education will celebrate the second edition of the Open Doors event. The largest international graduate water education facility in the world will open its doors to the public, allowing visitors a glimpse behind the scenes, and an opportunity to learn more about water and the importance of the Institute’s work around the world. From young to old, Open Doors offers something for everyone.
This year, we will also have an escape room that will give you the opportunity to experience what it is like to be subjected to the effects of climate change, and what choices you need to make to survive, or just to get out of the room.
Look at really dirty and crystal clear clean water through the microscope, meet our researchers and discuss their research with them, and listen to several ‘short talk’ sessions that will cover topics ranging from droughts to floods and nature for water. Come explore our lab, play games (for all ages), including a treasure hunt that will entertain the children for sure.
Enjoy lunch in our inviting garden or restaurant, and meet students from over 40 different countries and some of our staff members.
During the event, there will be special guided tours that take place at the Oude Delft 95 building, which is where everything started for the Institute 61 years ago.
Our doors will be wide open and we cannot wait to meet you, and show you around.
