IHE Delft Institute for Water Education is the largest international graduate water education facility in the world and is based in Delft, the Netherlands. The Institute confers fully accredited MSc degrees, and PhD degrees in collaboration with partners. Over 14,500 water professionals from more than 160 mainly developing countries and countries in transition were educated at the Institute.

History

IHE Delft continues the work that was started in 1957 when a postgraduate diploma course in hydraulic engineering was first offered to practicing professionals from developing countries.

The Water Community

IHE Delft is part of the UNESCO Water Family.

Organization

IHE Delft employs a total of 194 staff members of which 51 percent are academic staff. The Institute also has at its disposal a pool of more than 350 national and international guest lecturers from government agencies, partner universities and research institutes.
