Konstantina Katsanou, currently Lecturer in Applied Aquatic Ecology at IHE Delft, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology and a Masters’ degree in Environmental Sciences. Konstantina received her Ph.D. from the University of Patras, Greece where she also carried out her postdoctoral research. Both her Ph.D. and postdoctoral research focused on karst hydrogeology and hydrochemistry.
The focus of her career to date has been in hydrogeology research, water resource conservation, and water quality monitoring. She has also extensive fieldwork and laboratory experience as well as in Water Policy at European level. Among others she worked for the Dutch Omgevingsdienst Haaglanden and the Greek Water Directorate on the implementation of the European environmental regulations, while she contributed to the revision and implementation of the RBMPs and FRMPs.
Up to date, she has co-authored 20 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, 12 in International Congresses, 12 in book chapters and a handbook on hydrology. Her full list of publications can be found here.
She acts as peer reviewer for a number of International Journals of Springer and Elsevier, and International Conferences.
