- Climate Week New York City
A high-level launch event for a new training initiative to enhance national climate resilience takes place on 24 September. IHE Delft is proud to be one of the partners behind the upcoming Adaptation Academy. Under the broader Climate Action and Support Transparency Training (CASTT) program of the UNFCCC, the Adaptation Academy is specifically designed to enable a systematic, generational step-change in capacity to meet the ambitions of the Paris Agreement.
The Adaptation Academy event takes place on 24 September at 3:00 PM UTC (5:00 PM GMT) as part of the official programming of Climate Week New York City. Speakers including UNFCCC Executive Secretary Patricia Espinosa will highlight the need for climate leadership and training in order for the globe to meet the ambitious climate goals set out in the Paris Agreement.
Download the full programme with speaker information here. IHE Delft Rector Eddy Moors will also share a few remarks.
The virtual event is free to join on the Zoom platform. The event will place particular emphasis on the LAC and the Africa region (two of the three focal regions), building on a similar recent event for the Asia-Pacific region.
The first courses in the multi-year initiative begin on 27 September. Applications for the 2022 courses will open in the coming months.
