Project Communication Officer


Matt is the project communication officer for the Microbial Desalination (MIDES) project that is developing a low-energy system of producing safe drinking water (0.4 FTE). He has worked since 2013 in the environmental sector with NGOs including the Institute for Environmental Security and as a contributing writer/editor for IHE Delft publications. 

A former journalist with the International New York Times in Paris, Matt is also the creator and organizer of The Hague Roundtable on Climate & Security. The Roundtable is an initiative aimed at increasing international cooperation on climate impacts including responses to droughts, floods and natural disasters. He is a graduate of the University of North Florida at Jacksonville.
