UNESCO-IHE is represented at COP22 in Marrakesh by Prof. Pieter van der Zaag, who will take part in the Agriculture Action Day Partners meeting on the topic “Coping with water scarcity in agriculture: a global framework for action in a changing climate.”

UNESCO-IHE is a partner with FAO and others who have joined forces to assist member states cope with the impacts of water scarcity in agricultural sectors and along the value chain. The Global Framework is an action-orientated initiative aiming to achieve sustainable food and agriculture systems using a water scarcity lens, providing options that contribute to the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. The request to contribute to this event demonstrates the standing of UNESCO-IHE within the UNESCO Water Family and beyond, in the UN System.
