An IHE Delft delegation participated at the G-STIC conference which was held from 23 to 25 October in Brussels. The conference dealt with the important topic of Science, Technology and Innovation in support of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Around 1000 people from different organizations and regional areas attended the conference, including several high level representatives from the UN and different governments around the world.
IHE Delft played a very active role in the conference, in particular:
- Chairing the session "Smart Water Services" in the Smart Water solutions session (Gaetano Casale)
- Presenting the AfriAlliance project during the session “Smart Water and ICT as enabling technology" (Gaetano Casale on behalf of Uta Wehn)
- Presenting the LOTUS-HR project (EU-India cooperation) during the session Waste Water Treatment and Resource Recovery (Tineke Hooijmans)
- Presenting the activities of the WssTP Working Group “Water Beyond Europe" (Gaetano Casale, WG leader) during the Clean Ganga Event, attended among others by the Indian Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg and the EU
In addition, an IHE Delft alumnus, Mr. Sajad Fathi, presented the results of his MSc research on MAR (in cooperation with IGRAC).
