IHE Delft now accepts applications for academic admission to the Master of Science Programme in Sanitation starting in April 2020.This practice orientated one-year MSc programme will yield graduates with fundamental understanding and knowledge, as well as the skills necessary for creating impact. The generic skills development is embedded from the start, through individual coaching and tailored guidance. Preparatory (e-learning) courses and entry interviews are included.
The programme aims to attract talented and ambitious young and mid-career sanitation professionals, working in water supply and sewerage companies, municipal assemblies, government ministries, NGOs and consulting firms. Ideally these individuals are dealing with urban and peri-urban sanitation, especially in informal settlements.
All graduates will benefit from a dedicated career development programme, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and will become a member of the Global Faecal Sludge Management Learning Alliance and alumni community.
Bill&Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) Scholarships
For the academic year 2020-2021 there will be 5 full and 10 partial scholarships available from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The full scholarships cover the total cost of the programme (fees, allowances and tickets). For the partial scholarship the candidate is expected to cover €15,000 from other sources. All other cost will be covered by the BMGF Scholarship. The matching funds can be provided by yourself, your employer or any other sponsor, or combination of those.
As the number of full scholarships is very limited, you are strongly advised to search as soon as possible for matching funds. The application procedure for both the full and partial scholarships is the same. First the candidates for the full scholarships will be selected and informed. The candidates who have not been selected for a full scholarship, may be offered a partial scholarship. As by that time there will not be much time left to search for additional funding, you are advised to search from the beginning onwards for additional funding. When you wait till the moment of announcement for scholarship, it may be too late to still look for the matching funds, in case you will be offered a partial scholarship.
