On 8 February 2013, three Indonesian alumni visited the Institute, accompanied by the Mayor of Palembang City. The alumni graduated a few years ago from the Double Degree MSc programme on Integrated Lowland Development and Management Planning. The first year of the programme takes place at the Sriwijaya University, Indonesia and the second year at UNESCO-IHE.
The alumni are involved in various projects for the municipality of Palembang City. The mayor, mister Santana Putra, values their contributions to an integrated approach for the development of lowlands.
