The IHE Delft library has launched the institutional publication repository. The repository is designed for smart phones, tablets and workstations and allows the library to easily build and showcase digital collections easily. Among various useful APIs, the repository uses Optical Character Recognition, which allows text characters in an image file to be searched, therefore enhancing the discovery experience.
Currently the following collections are made available through the IHE Delft publication repository:
- PhD dissertations
- Open Access MSc theses
- MSc theses with bibliographic data only (restricted access, content available only on IHE Delft premises or through VPN).
- Open Access publications - all IHE Delft journal articles published as Open Access.
- Preprint publications which contains research outputs of IHE Delft staff and includes journal articles, books, book chapters, working papers, conference papers, discussion papers, and more. The preprint is a version of a scholarly or scientific paper that precedes formal peer review and publication.
The repository is also integrated with IHE Delft’s Discovery catalogue. The metadata shall be harvested according to the technological framework and interoperability standards for enhancing access to archives, as stipulated by the Open Archives Initiative.
