The International Water Management Institute and UNESCO-IHE reinstate collaboration

On 14 May 2014 UNESCO-IHE and the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) have agreed to renew their cooperation involving the development of a range of activities to strengthen and reinforce an international educational basis in the field of sustainable water, land and environmental management.

The International Water Management Institute (IWMI)

IWMI is a scientific research organization with the mission to provide evidence-based solutions to sustainably manage water and land resources for food security, people’s livelihoods and the environment.

Scope of the collaboration

The renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IWMI and UNESCO-IHE includes information exchange, elaboration and implementation of joint projects, capacity development and joint supervision of MSc and PhD students in the following areas: water management and global change, water data and water accounting, and improved options for water management to eradicate extreme poverty and support sustainable development.
