New call for water and development project proposals!

The Water and Development Partnership Programme today launched its first call for proposals.

First call for project proposals

The call seeks promising large-scale projects that align with the philosophy, approach and focus of the Water and Development Partnership Programme.
The call in particular welcomes inter- and transdisciplinary project proposals that aim to redress issues related to inequities and ecological degradation in water-related developments in the following thematic areas:
  • water and health
  • water for food
  • river basins and deltas.
This call solicits project proposals that combine high-quality research and open education with capacity strengthening activities by proactive knowledge-sharing and advocacy engagement. Emphasis will be placed on projects with research findings that are disseminated and used in the water sector.

The projects should implement their activities mainly in, and collaborate primarily with organizations from, the programme’s focus regions: the Sahel, the Horn of Africa and the Middle East. Projects should provide opportunities for (early-career) women and representatives of groups that are marginalized or underrepresented in the water sector. The anticipated budget for successful projects range from 1 to 1.5 million euro for a three- to five-year period.
