Until now, IHE Delft was the only higher education institute in the Netherlands which only considered Diploma Graduates as alumni. To align with all other Dutch education establishments and in response to the request of many certificates graduates to be part of the alumni network, the definition has been reviewed and the new status has been approved by the Rectorate.
In November the new alumni definition was announced by Prof. Eddy Moors, IHE Delft Rector, during the awarding of short course certificates at IHE Delft. The Institute considers as alumni all professionals who have completed a programme given by the Institute in the Netherlands or abroad.
Alumni are grouped into two categories:
- Diploma alumni, which includes all professionals who have graduated from long programmes that is, PhD, MSc, MEng, and Diploma programmes, and
- Certificate Alumni, which includes all professionals who have accomplished a Short and Online Course or a Tailor Made Training programme.
The new number of alumni is approximately 23,000. The new number of countries with alumni is 190. Questions regarding the new alumni definition can be addressed to Maria Laura Sorrentino, alumni relations officer at IHE Delft.
