PhD fellow Nguyen Huynh has won an award in the category 'best abstracts in developing countries'. The award will be given to her by the International Water Association (IWA) during the 20th International Symposium on Health Related Water Microbiology in September this year. Nguyen's research focuses on water quality in flood waters of developing countries.
The societal problem addressed by this research was presented during the opening of the IHE Delft academic year in 2018. The fact that being in contact with flood waters (which practically cannot be avoided) in many developing cities has a large hidden public health hazard that is often underestimated.
