Water Sector Market 2017

On 13 April, IHE Delft hosted the fifth annual Water Sector Market. This event is organized every year for the public and private water sector to get acquainted and build long-term relations with the international student population at IHE Delft and its alumni abroad. More than twenty water sector organizations attended the event and were joined with around 200 MSc students and PhD fellows.

Meet & Greet

The event was opened by Mr. Stephan Brandligt, Deputy Mayor at Gemeente Delft, who welcomed all the participants. The companies, spread around our restaurant, got the chance to meet the international student population at IHE Delft from developing countries and countries in transition. The senior students will graduate from their MSc programme on and will graduate on 25 April and the majority will return to their home countries soon after that. Through this event, they had the opportunity to meet up with the water sector operating from the Netherlands, making contacts that could benefit them in their careers after they return home.

Student Testimonial

This year the Water Youth Network was also part of the companies showcased at the Water Sector Market. The Water Youth Network is a global and inclusive connector in the water sector, with a vibrant community of students and young professionals and across disciplines.

Vittorio Nespeca is a Hydroinformatics MSc Graduate of the Institute and a member of the Water Youth Network. He believes that "the Water Sector Market is a great opportunity for both students and nonprofit organizations such as the Water Youth Network. It gives the possibility to students to get a feeling of the vibrant Dutch Water Industry and understand the activities of nonprofit organizations operating in the Water Sector. As a Network, we are pleased to have the chance to involve so many young water professionals from all over the world. There is so much to do in the direction of a youth-empowered world water sector. But, IHE Delft is definitely a great partner that believes and support us in following this path."
