The Nile: a river of history

Lecture given by Terje Tvedt, University of Bergen (Norway)

Terje Tvedt is the editor of the nine-volumes "A History of Water" with contributions by 250 leading water researchers from almost 100 countries; he has written a number of monographs on the Nile, also translated into Arabic, including "The River Nile in the Age of the British" and "The Nile. The River of History". His books are currently displayed at IHE library.

Terje Tvedt is also a filmmaker and author of three major water documentaries, including "A Journey in the History of Water" (1997) that has been bought by National Geographic, Discovery, and shown in about 150 countries, "The Future of Water" (2007) , the only academic water documentary distributed by Netflix, and "The Nile Quest (2014) that will be shown in Delft during the film festival Let's talk about water" with the following program:
