For whom?

Young and mid-career professionals working in private companies, local authorities or NGOs interested in project management (focus on sanitation). Practitioners, decision-makers and other professionals (not strictly working already in the field) who have the interest to expand their knowledge in project management (focus on sanitation).


A bachelors degree with at least two years work experience in WASH sector.

Learning objectives

Upon completion, the participant should be able to:
  1. Explain project management cycle and discuss various results-based project management approaches
  2. Develop a coherent and consistent project proposal (sanitation)
  3. Develop project implementation plan (sanitation)

The course discusses project management cycle and results-based project management. The participants work in groups to develop a sanitation project proposal and implementation plan – (i) context analysis; (ii) stakeholder analysis; (iii) specific problem analysis (iv) theory of change; (v) risk assessment and mitigation; (vi) task planning; (vii) project budget & VFM and (viii) MEL indicators.
