Dr. Angelo Jonas Imperiale is a Post-doctoral Researcher at the University of Groningen and the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, and an Honorary Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne (Faculty of Science, Department of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Science).
His research sits at the intersection of the fields of Social Sciences and Regional Planning, and aims to advance scientific understanding of the social dimensions of risk and resilience in localities. He investigates the knowledge and governance strategies that are needed to enhance Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and community resilience, and achieve sustainable development in localities and across multiple governance levels and social-ecological scales.
