Ground Truth 2.0 is a 3-year EC-funded project that is setting up six citizen observatories, in four European and two African Demonstration Cases. Via citizen observatories, citizens - and not just scientists and professionals are enabled to share data about their environment. Ground Truth 2.0 is demonstrating that such citizen observatories are technologically feasible, can be implemented sustainably and that they have many societal and economic benefits. This is realised by taking an innovative, trans-disciplinary approach which combines 1) the social dimensions of citizen observatories with 2) enabling technologies.
