So far what have been the highlights of your study?
The course completely exceeded my expectations. The best aspect of the course has been the pooling of the knowledge of all sectors candidates from different nationalities and the global discussions on the questions and answers of water resource management that take place in one small place.

Why did you pick IHE Delft for your studies?
Because it is well known that the Netherlands is a country that lies below sea level and as such has a long history with water management to ensure the safety and improve the welfare of its people. It is the best example I know.

How has the degree helped you with your career progression and do you know what you will be doing afterwards?
I will have benefited firstly from the application of international law and how to apply it in matters of national water resources and secondly on the economics of water its cost and the value. This knowledge can be applied in any country in the planning and development of water management.

After this I will go back home to Nepal to my job, as I am on a study leave. When back, I will concentrate on focusing minds on sustainable development of hydropower or any water resources sector; as the Environment, Equity (the society) and the economy are the three pillars of sustainable development. In my country we have to keep these in balance for Nepal is a poor country with many challenges especially in these sectors.

What is it like to live in Delft? Do you like the atmosphere?
The transport is fantastic! In Holland everyone helps visitors and people normally speak English to them! The social scene at UNESCO has been wonderful. I have interacted with many people and I am no longer home sick. I have even felt that there was so much support that I don’t miss my family as much as I expected. With all the many nationalities it has been like a huge family in a small place.

Would you recommend IHE Delft to prospective students?
Of course: The lecturers are from many countries having years of experience and the most important aspect is the cultural/social environment as I have said is very cooperative.
