Water on Tap is a public lecture series that takes place in the fun setting of a local bar. The aims of the lecture series is to build the public’s water knowledge, and to connect the general public to IHE Delft’s work as well as other water professionals. Each session will have three engaging talks and fun games (with prizes including local beers) that are all linked to water. There will also be free tap water and finger food.
This time, the topic is risk and disaster management. We understand that water is crucial for our survival; we literally need it for everything, but what happens when water becomes a threath for our survival? We will share our thoughts on extreme waters and how managing them has become "a thing" in water science.
Our first speaker will be Alessandra Crosato. She is an associate Professor of River Morphology and Engineering in the Water Science and Engineering Department at IHE Delft. The title of her talk is "The fight against water in the Netherlands: a historical view". A must-know for all of us who live in this country, right? Our second speaker is yet to be confirmed. Stay posted.
