IAHR World Congress

IAHR

IHE Delft will take part in the 40th International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) World Congress, to be held 21-25 August 2023 in Vienna, Austria. Institute delegates will speak at several events and take part in networking sessions.

IHE Delft delegates include:

The congress focuses on five key topics: River Research and Management; Deltas and Coastal Engineering; Sediment Transport and Morphodynamics; Integrated Management of Extremes, Climate Change, and Environment and Society.   • 6th IAHR Coffee Chat: Together We are IAHR

    The IAHR task force on Strengthening Diversity and Gender Equity together with Isabella Schalko (ETH Zurich) will host the 6th IAHR Coffee Chat for young professionals. The discussion will focus on how to strengthen diversity and gender equity within IAHR.

  • Workshop: Towards more sustainable hydraulic structures

  • John F. Kennedy Student Paper Competition

    IHE Delft participant: David Ferras

    Location: Hall F1

    The John F. Kennedy Student Paper Competition recognises conference papers from undergraduate and postgraduate students on the basis of written and oral presentations at the IAHR World Congress.  David Ferras is a coordinator of the competition.

    The Award was established in 1992 to honour the memory of Professor John F. KennedyIAHR President (1979-1983) and Honorary Member (1989-1991).

  • Meet an advanced career peer

    An opportunity for young professionals to  meet IAHR senior professionals, including Ioana Popescu, during a session hosted within the 40th IAHR World Congress where young professionals can meet them in an informal setup.

  • Workshop on Panama capacity development

    The Capacity Development Initiative, which is coordinated by is coordinated by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) with partners including IHE Delft, will host a workshop focusing on Panama. Ioana Popescu is a moderator and organizer, Gabriella Maria Castrello Romano a moderator and rapporteur.
