Seminar on Integrated Management of Small Island Water and Marine Resources

IHE Delft invites you to attend the Seminar on Integrated Management of Small Island Water and Marine Resources, an important event focusing on innovative and sustainable solutions for water management challenges faced by Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

This seminar is part of a broader regional initiative by IHE Delft Institute for Water Education and its partners including Villa College and CEL, island of Mulah. It aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and capacity building in the Atlantic, Indian Ocean, and South China Seas (AIS) region.

Objectives of the Seminar:

  • Networking Opportunities: Bring together national and international water experts, government officials, (I)NGO partners, community organisation representatives, and academia to share insights and foster collaborations.
  • Showcase Research and Innovations: Highlight recent advancements and solutions in water management tailored to SIDS' unique challenges.

Key Highlights:

  • Presentations by water and climate experts, including discussions on the 3SWater Project, Water Safety Planning (WSP) activities in the Maldives, and environmental monitoring innovations.
  • Opportunities to engage with professionals working to address critical issues related to water, climate and marine resources.
  • Insights into the results of ongoing MSc research projects relevant to SIDS.

This seminar promises to be an enriching platform for exchanging knowledge, showcasing innovative solutions, and fostering partnerships for addressing critical water and marine resource challenges. In addition to the Maldivian participants, delegates from several Small Island Developing States have confirmed attendance.
