FirstRand IHE Delft Water Education scholarship application open now

FirstRand IHE Delft Scholarship

The FirstRand Foundation, the corporate foundation of South African financial institution FirstRand Limited, has entered into a five-year partnership with IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, to allow for an outstanding South African student to undertake postgraduate study at IHE Delft in the Netherlands. This will be the second year of the partnership.

Cindy Cherry, the first scholarship awardee, started the MSc in Water and Sustainable Development in October this year. It has been an eye-opening experience so far, allowing Cindy to pursue her interests in water and development while being immersed in a global community of experts and peers. "Water plays a critical role in broader resource management, sustainable development, and adaptability to climate change. In other words, if you want to address any developmental challenge in the world, water is a good place to start," she said.

I encourage other South African students to seize this opportunity to expand their horizons and contribute to the critical challenge of securing water resources for our future.
