Partial MSc scholarships for Latin Americans
IHE Delft offers three partial scholarships which will cover the full tuition fee (approximately 50% of the total cost) of the regular MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development starting in October 2023. Individuals holding citizenship from any country in Latin America and the Caribbean are qualified to apply, provided they are fluent in English and Spanish. Cost of living, visa, travel, etc. need to be covered by the candidate or through other sources.
Requirements
You have:
- academic admission to the MSc Programme on Water and Sustainable Development (68 ECTS);
- a university degree in Chemistry, Hydrology, Geology, Civil or Environmental Engineering;
- at least three years of experience in any of the following fields: Hydroinformatics, Geochemistry, Hydrogeology, Ecotoxicology or Environmental Impact Assessment;
- affinity with mathematical modelling and programming.
You are:
- a citizen from a country in Latin America and the Caribbean;
- fluent in English (proven by the required English language test) and Spanish;
- able to cover the remaining costs (approximately €17,500) through other means, which should be proved by bank statement or second sponsor letter;
- not receiving full funding to attend the programme through other means.
Application procedure for admission and scholarship
First apply for academic admission for the MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development (68 ECTS).
If you meet the admission requirements you will receive an academic admission letter. After you have received your academic admission letter and meet the requirements as stated above, send an e-mail to Marlies Baburek, Fellowship and Admission Officer (m.baburek@un-ihe.org) stating that you wish to be considered for this scholarship.
Proof of availability through bank statements or second sponsor letter should be attached.
If you meet the requirements, you will be placed on the list of applicants who will be considered for the scholarship.
Deadlines
- Deadline of application for admission: 1 July 2023
- Deadline of sending e-mail to IHE Delft's Fellowship and Admission Office with proof of funding: 15 July 2023
Selection procedure
- Depending upon the number of applicants and their level of experience and expertise, short-listed applicants will be invited for an online interview.
- Selected applicants will receive a partial scholarship (approximately 50% of the costs of the MSc Programme).
- To be fully admitted to the regular MSc programme, selected applicants will need to secure the remaining costs from their own sources or third parties.
- Fully accepted applicants will be assigned a coach within the framework of the MSc in Water and Sustainable Development.
- Also, selected applicants will be assigned an MSc research supervision committee (composed of a supervisor and a mentor)
- The MSc supervision team will define and assign the topic of the MSc research project which the selected applicants will carry out in the final part of the MSc studies.
- Depending upon the level of experience and expertise and the allocated MSc research topic, the selected applicants will define the track and profile of the MSc programme that they will enroll.
