    African Water Association Congress

    IHE Delft was well represented at the AFWA Congress 2020 in Kampala which was attended by more than 2,500 participants from over 100 countries. The Managing Director of NWSC, Dr Eng. Silver Mugisha, who is also is the current Vice President of AfWA for the Eastern Region is the Congress President and an alumnus of IHE Delft. The overall theme was “Breaking new grounds to accelerate access to safe water and sanitation for all in Africa”. This theme is particularly relevant to the water and sanitation sector in Africa, as most of the African countries are now faced with immense water and sanitation challenges and the need to share ideas and resources and collaborate to find solutions has never been more urgent.

    Mr Shakeel Hayat awarded with a Doctoral degree

    On 5 March 2020, Mr Shakeel Hayat successfully defended his PhD thesis and was awarded with a Doctoral degree. Professor Joyeeta Gupta was his promotor and Dr Courtney Vegelin his co-promotor.

Since the topics will be of interest to a broader audience, they are open to all interested persons. The Online Seminars are like interactive lectures transmitted over the web, with a duration of one hour including time for discussion. The seminar is organized in collaboration with the WaterChannel, IHE Delft partner.
